Deepen your meditation practice and enrich your life through the practice and contemplation of Refuge which is a foundation of Buddhist practice, and Being which could be defined as the most fundamental sense of "I am" - the conscious, spacious, empty presence of formless Awareness.
Refuge means to feel safe and secure. How do we take Refuge in our moment to moment embodied experience of Being, just as it is? Ultimately, what is reliable when everything else is unreliable?
These are questions we will explore through traditional and contemporary ways of taking Refuge through direct experience of Being on outer, inner and innermost levels.
SCHEDULE & FORMAT:
Most of the sessions take place via Zoom on Thursday mornings, 9:00-10:30 Eastern Time.
In these weekly Thursday morning classes, we will delve into Refuge and Being through meditation, contemplation, teaching, Q&A and discussion.
If you are not familiar with Zoom, it is an easy, user-friendly online platform where we can see and hear each other so it still offers an intimate setting even though it is virtual. You can join by computer, phone, iPad etc.
We will spend several weeks, September-December [Oct-Nov], practicing with Refuge and Being, spending time with different facets to deepen our experience.
The intent of the program is to augment meditation practice - the curriculum is geared toward contemplation and practice both on and off the cushion.
PROGRAM RESOURCES & SELF STUDY OPTION:
For those who join this program, you will have access to a private, password-protected page of the website where you will receive resources and practice suggestions. This will be a "closed" group to enhance focus and intimacy.
If you miss a session, you will have access to the recordings on the private page of the website. The meditations will be recorded separately for easy use and reference.
You do not have to join the weekly live Zoom meeting (or even have a Zoom account) to still be able to access everything on the private, password-protected page of this website. You could use this as a completely "at your own pace" self study program.
A percentage of the proceeds will be dedicated to the Tranquil Flame Scholarship Fund to help those with financial needs attend retreats and other events or programs.
All prices below include the Thursday morning classes and allow access to the private website page with resources and meditation class recordings. Choose the level which best aligns with you and your needs.
